GOJON Alain

An agricultural engineer (ENSA Montpellier) and doctor of the University of Montpellier, Alain GOJON has spent his entire career as a researcher at INRAE. He was director of the UMR Biochemistry and Molecular Physiology of Plants, CNRS/INRAE/SupAgro/UM between 2012 and 2020. His research has mainly focused on the physiology of nitrogen nutrition in plants, particularly the mechanisms of nitrate and ammonium uptake by roots, from the molecular level to that of the whole plant. The aim has been to characterise the signalling pathways that enable plants to optimise their nitrogen acquisition in response to abiotic environmental stresses. For the past ten years, he has been particularly interested in the effects of rising atmospheric CO2 on plant physiology.
