XUE Wenchao

Associate Professor et the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT, Pathumthani, Thailand), Dr. Wenchao Xue is an Environmental Scientist and Engineer with a PhD in Urban Engineering and over ten years of experience in water pollution control, advanced water and wastewater treatment technologies, emerging contaminants, microplastic pollution in aquatic environments, and sustainable watershed management. Her research contributions are characterized by the development of innovative methodologies and interdisciplinary frameworks that integrate environmental science, engineering, and data science. Dr. Xue’s work has advanced a systems-level understanding of plastic pollution by bridging microplastic environmental science with plastic value chain governance and circular economy transformation, contributing to more integrated and science-based approaches for addressing plastic leakage from source to ocean.
